Uluwatu Temple, also known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu, is one of the most sacred sea temples in Bali and holds immense spiritual and historical significance for the Balinese people. According to local tradition, this temple was established in the 11th century by the holy priest Mpu Kuturan, who played a vital role in shaping Balinese Hindu religious practices. Later, in the 16th century, Dang Hyang Nirartha, another revered figure in Balinese Hinduism, is believed to have contributed to the temple’s development.
