Batuan Temple, also known as Pura Puseh Batuan, is one of the most important historical and spiritual temples in Gianyar, Bali. Its origins date back to the Isaka year 944, or around 1020 AD, making it over a thousand years old. Built during the reign of the Warmadewa Dynasty, the temple reflects the early integration of indigenous Balinese beliefs with Hindu-Buddhist influences from Java.
The temple is part of the Kahyangan Tiga concept, which forms the spiritual foundation of every traditional Balinese village.
